First of all let’s read the original Aphorism No.2 written by Samuel Hahnemann in his famous book “Organon of Medicine“:
“The highest ideal of cure is rapid, gentle and permanent restoration of the health, or removal and annihilation of the disease in its whole extent, in the shortest, most reliable, and most harmless way, on easily comprehensible principles.”
Explanation of Aphorism#2:
This aphorism tells us what is the best way to cure a patient and his diseases. It explains how to study the case, apply right principles and how to fully cure a patient. Let’s explain it in more details:
Highest Ideal of Cure:
It means the best possible cure that a physician can give to a patient which is 100% removal of all mental, physical and emotional illnesses.
Rapid Cure:
It means that a homeopathic physician should try his best to cure the illness in shortest possible period of time. Please note that time frame differs depending upon the condition of patient. In Acute conditions like flu, fever, diarrhea the rapid cure may take few hours or few days. But in case of chronic conditions like Fistula, Fissure, Hepatitis C, Hydrocephalus etc, the rapid cure time frame may be few months of even few years. The exact treatment time frame also depends upon the severity of condition, the strength of Vital Force of patient and the environment in which patient is living.
Gentle Restoration of Health:
Gentle cure means restoration of health in easy and smooth way. There should be no use of harsh chemicals, un-necessary use of surgical instruments, heavy antibiotics and other similar ways that can create great discomfort for the patient. A homeopathic physician should use highly diluted and potentized homeopathic remedies to increase the strength of Vital force of patient to naturally fight the diseases. Homeopathic medicines are the only way to give a gentle restoration of health.
Permanent Restoration of Health:
Suppression and Palliation is very common in other methods of treatment where symptoms of patient are suppressed by the use of harsh chemicals like antibiotics or Steroids. Patient feels better for some period of time but illness reoccurs in another or same form after some time.
